Amazon, after purchase I find this watch has neither a mineral crystal or 50m water resistance.

I know this must be an honest mistake so I am charitably providing you with this opportunity to rectify your errors by 1) Refunding me 1/2 of my money (payment for the professional service I’ve rendered you by providing expert knowledge of this product AND remedy for unintentional misrepresentation) and 2) Correcting your errant verbiage.

I look foward to seeing a credit on my CC account and more accurate advertising – I know you can do it.

This is a simple, reliable digital watch with basic stopwatch and alarm features, which is exactly what I need. Very straightforward and no extra buttons and whistles. Great value for the price.

This watch is the awesomest most ever joyously exhilarating time piece! It saved my life. I was drugged at a wedding reception by a black market organ thief, and woke up in a big trash can. I used the light on the watch to tell what time it was and how to get out of the dumpster. I survived, so I promised my watch to buy another one as a friend, and I did.

This is the watch known as the “terrorist” watch, because it was supposedly favored as a simple timing device for bombs. Members of Al Quada may have worn them sometimes, like about 370 million other people in the world.

Owning this watch was actually enough reason for Iraqis and Afghanis to be sent to Guantanamo to be tortured by that shining beacon of democracy, the USA. You can learn more about this watch and the CIA’s interest in it from the Google site. Enter the watch model and the word “terrorist.” It seems too silly for words, like the daily Orange Threat Alert. Grown men participate in this nonsense, can you believe it?

I am very disappointed in this watch, the F-91W.

I have owned a different watch, the Casio W-71 for many years, and find it to be a versatile watch, but the band just broke (as they do after several years). I purchased the F-91W awhile back as a future replacement, but found it lacking seriously when I had to use it. I would have sent it back, but considering the cost of shipping, it was not worth it.

The features are scaled back compared to the W-71. There is no count-down timer, which I use almost daily. The button that cycles through the features goes through the "change time," making it easy to change the time by mistake. (The button layout is not convenient for someone who uses the different features multiple times daily, but I concede that may be my bias.) I also use the feature to set an alarm for a specific date (the one day I have to catch a plane at 6 am), so I do not forget and get awakened at 4 am for the next few days. There are more limitations and flaws in addition to these I have listed.

Pros:
cheap
its a Casio

Cons:
too easy to change the time by mistake
limted features
no month on date, just the day (fine, my pet peeve)
no count down timer
single alarm mode
(button layout not as easy to use)

The W-71 is about twice the cost, but well worth it. I am going to find a replacement band (or two) for my old one, and put this F-91W back in a drawer.

Spend the extra $10 for a much better watch. Stock up on replacement bands at Wal-Mart or such and it will last for many years.
